Who we are
Towersey Playing Fields is a registered charity, number 1054125 and is run by volunteers for the community.
The day-to-day management of the Towersey Playing Fields is overseen by The Towersey Playing Fields Committee, (TPFC). The Playing Fields are owned by the Towersey Parish Council and TPFC have a 150 -year lease, signed in 2020.

The TPFC Trustees and Committee members are a group of volunteers united by our passion for Towersey and a shared commitment to making our vision of a new combined Community Hall and Sports Pavilion a reality.
Our team brings together a diverse array of skills and backgrounds including business management, consulting, project management, IT services, retail operations, marketing, teaching, the creative arts and surveying, reflecting the vibrant community we serve.
As Trustees and committee members, we are dedicated to enhancing the facilities available to our village and surrounding areas, fostering a sense of community spirit. Our collective expertise allows us to approach the project from various angles, ensuring that we carefully consider the needs and desires of our residents while navigating the regulatory frameworks set forth by bodies such as the Charity Commission, Local Authorities and Funding Organisations.
The committee has two additional Sub-Groups, 1. Fund Raising and 2. Ground Management.
We strive to ensure that TPFC is an inclusive group—where individuals can gather, collaborate, and share their talents. However, our vision is not complete without the voice and involvement of more community members. We have reached out to other local residents to help us on occasions with the work load and benefit from additional skill sets when required.

Richard Duckham – Chair and Trustee
Richard has been Chair of TPFC since 2017 and has been involved with the current project from the very beginning and is driven to complete it for the benefit of the local communities. He has a rich background in project management in the oil and gas industry, with over 30 years of experience managing the control and instrumentation of large projects.
Richard’s skill set is ideally suited to this project. As Chair he oversees all activities of the committee.
Jenni Jones – Treasurer, Trustee & Fund Raising Group
Jenni is a respected Finance Director & Project Manager with extensive experience providing comprehensive, high quality financial support to business and finance teams in the pharmaceutical industry. She has international experience having lived and worked in several countries and has a passion and ability to work in partnership to deliver objectives and create value both in business and community projects.
Jenni’s financial and project management skills are invaluable for such a complex project as this.
Claire Wentworth-Fitzwilliam- Secretary
Claire has an international background in the corporate world and following bringing up her children she currently works in an administrative capacity in a multilingual school. Her administrative and organisational skills are invaluable to keep the committee on track and ensure governance is adhered to and secure record keeping.
The project marries four of Claire’s keen interests: wellbeing through sport, enhancement, the outdoors & community.
Jon Masters– Trustee & Fund Raising Group
Jon has over 30 years’ experience in the regulated world of finance, and more recently pursuing his own entrepreneurial interests in business. His experience in the customer facing business world is useful for building meaningful working relationships.
He has been on the TPFC for 12 years and is passionate about his local community, getting involved in many fundraising activities and events.
Simon Mottram– Committee Member & Fund Raising Group
I am an entrepreneur, having founded and built a £150 million international, direct to consumer sportswear business over twenty years.
I am passionate about the difference that outdoor sports can do to everyone’s mental and physical health and I’m really excited by the plans to develop our playing fields into an active hub for our local community.
